I'm loving this image taken by the The Sartorialist. It totally inspires me:-
Totally beautiful - and those gladiators are hot. I'm hoping to create a similar look.

Thinking Time
I’m feeling inspired at the moment in many ways. I had a great last few days, which got me thinking a lot about my life, who I am as a person. I think I get lazy. I know what makes me happy, what is right and yet I work away, carry on with routine and let myself ignore things. But I’m afraid of wasting years not being true to myself and my beliefs. I think we go through transition years where we are figuring it all out. Right when I think I know myself… a couple of years pass and I feel like I’m starting all over again. I don't want to look back at "wasted years" - spent figuring out what I like/want when I could have just been doing it. Some people accomplish more in 20 years than some people do in a lifetime. I guess I want to be one of those people (not the latter!).
One thing I know is how much I appreciate my lifelong true friends I’ve had for years. The meaningful friendships that enrich your lives. I get tired of constantly meeting people and having to start all over again.
I have a friend living here at the moment who is also Australian. We have so much fun paying each other out and also that we understand each others ways, even though we have really only known each other a short time.
Here’s what I’m listening to at the Moment:-
The Whitsundays
Zooey Deschanel & M.Ward
Wolftron
Beirut
What I’m reading: Women in Love by DH. Lawrence and Corellis Mandolin.
I ended up sending back the Urban Outfitters skirt. The high waisted skirts don’t seem to suit my figure. It was such a cute skirt, but that’s ok. Now I’m on the lookout for a pair of flat gladiators for everday wear. I’ll post some pics up soon.

The weekend
The weekend was good. A group of us went to a beer festival and enjoyed many "tasters", lots of pizza and a walk on the beach after we were done. We needed some fresh air before driving home.
Saturday we played cards with friends at night, and had a bbq. We played a chinese card game.
One of my favourite vintage clothing stores is closing down soon. I'm devastated! There are very few good vintage stores in our area. The store is having sales until September, but I'm really disappointed. I loved having a coffee/cup of tea in a cafe nearby, reading in the sun or writing in my journal before hopping over to the vintage store for some expensive "browsing":) I guess I'll have to make the trek to LA for the flea markets from now on! Pasadena here I come.

Western Australia
I come from this adorable town in Australia, and thought I'd share some photo's from one of my favourite spots. How I miss it here. I've been feeling nostalgic recently, and longing to be back there.
We used to 4-wheel drive out here and camp on the beach. Catch fish, bury it to keep it cool overnight, then bbq it for breakfast. It was truly the best.
I'm too much of a city girl these days to live in such quiet surroundings. But I long to be able to do things like that on the weekends, sometimes:)

Scrapbooking and Bogart
So back to my scrapbook. Often when I'm feeling inspired I can think of things that will look beautiful together. But then there will be other times I'm feeling completely uninspired and end up throwing on teeshirt, converse sneakers and jeans. Blah! Thats fine for work - I like to feel comfortable, and I'm working in a laid back area by the beach. But sometimes that translates over to after work activities, eg. going to the pub. I have a gazillion clothes - yet sometimes I'll get all confused when faced with too many options.
I just bought this skirt from Urban Outfitters:-
I'm waiting for it to arrive in the mail. And it will be a lot longer on short me! I'm thinking knee length. I'm looking forward to its arrival!
I think it has a nice vintage look/feel to it!
And the earrings, what can I say? They're cute!
The weekend here was good. I went to independence Jam with a bunch of friends. There was a pretty cruisy atmosphere and we rocked out to Flogging Molly! In the afternoon we sat and played cards on the lawn. Flogging Molly had so much energy.
I really enjoyed the band "The Whigs". I'll have to youtube them later.
Yesterday I watched "The Big Sleep" with Bogart & Bacall. Its a classic I know, but I had a real hard time following it. There were so many characters, a thick plot. Maybe it was too heavy for 4 o'clock in the afternoon!
I also got out Captain Corelli's Mandolin - which I've been hearing a lot about, but never seen!
