I just had an eye exam. After more than a decade working on computers... I need... computer glasses. The optometrist said I have the eyes of a 40 year old. Oh crap.
He suggested I become a fire fighter, anything to get away from the computer, because my eyes will only get worse.
I chose some ray ban reading glasses that are interesting and I *think* suit me.
Suddenly I feel old. I'm turning the big 3-0 this year. (yes, I know that logically that is really quite young). But along with 3-0 comes glasses and I seem to have to work out more to stay the same darn weight.
End of pfffffft moment.
I'm going to go and fight some fires.

Oh, I'm sorry. But trust it could be a lot worse. I used to wear a friends glasses when I was in the 4th grade. Then by 7th grade, I had ruined my eyes for good. I was blind as a bat. But I didnt get glasses until I graduated highschool. I was 22 when I finally got contacts. And I have been working at a computer job for 21 years...so can you imagine what I see when I take my contacts off? I wear glasses at night when my eyes are dry or tired. But trust..it could be worse. Know this: you are NOT old. Just wise-looking! And that has nothing to do with age. Besides - you seeing better is all that matters!
And glasses are hot... You'll have the whole sexy librarian thing down in no time!
Yeah, what rinsky said...there is truth to that...work it girl! :)
My goodness are you really that old? Really? That's old, and when I say old I mean O.L.D. Is your hair turning grey? You haven't really accomplished much in your time on the planet have you?
Hahahaha, you'll look nice in glasses I'm sure. I always wanted glasses because I think my face looks better with them but sadly I am cursed with better than twenty-twenty vision (which I didn't know you could have) even though I am a positively ancient thirty four years of age.
Daring to dream: true that:)
Rinsk: sexy secretary? hmmm... we'll see. that would require wearing nice clothes and makeup to work. I think I'll stick with disshelved computer support technician with new glasses.
Dr Sub: yes yes, I know. I had a "moment". I felt disappointed in myself for needing glasses, and didn't think I'd need them for some time. I know i'm a kid still. I'm reminded of this fact each and every day when I say stupid things and think of what I haven't done yet. ps. better than 20/20 vision? nice;) and yes - I do agree that many men look very nice in glasses. Daniel was prescribed glasses also, and he looks very nice in them!! One day doctor sub you'll be lucky enough to lose some of that fantastic eyesight of yours and join the rest of us mere mortals in the wearing of spectacles. And when you do, i'm sure they'll be fabulous.
Wow. I'm sure they look great on you. I don't know about you but I've always wanted to wear glasses. Something really quirky about reading/computer glasses. And we all love a bit of quirk!
